Spraying Glazes with a Spray Gun

I am trying to use a spray gun with a compressor to do some glazing.

What is the best way to do this!

I am having so many problems!

The nossle keeps getting plugged up. The spray is not even. I was hoping to glaze many pots and get a consistant glaze. Maybe this is not the way to do it.

My sprayer looks like the picture below.

New Critter Spray Gun

I guess using paint sprayers is futile when spraying glazes. They get clogged, they do not spray evenly, etc. One person I talked to said that they were able to change the nossle and it worked, but they do not know the details. I gave up!

I got a new spraying that is awesome. The Critter Spray Products 22032 118SG Siphon Gun Sprayer! I guess it is made to spray liquids with larger particles. It still does clog sometimes, but no nearly as much as the old sprayer.

RE:Spraying Glazes with a Spray Gun

I have a sprayer that looks very much like that one. It has been a work horse for almost 15 years! It is great because normal jamming jars can be attached to the bottom so they are easy to swap out. It is nice to know the brand name.

Question: What kind of compressor do you use. Mine is about to go, the air pressure is not very stable.

RE:Spraying Glazes with a Spray Gun

Has anyone tried the Paintec Spray Gun. It is the pump sprayer with no compressor.

I have a lot of problems with the compressor I use. The pressure changes and a bunch of glaze comes out all at ones.

I am still looking for a solution.
