Glazermixer question for recipes |
|
I am using glazemixer for my glaze. I found a recipe and the recipe for teal blue is
custer feldspar: 20%
Ferro Frit : 20%
wollastonite : 20%
Silica : 20%
EPK : 20%
Add:
Cobalt Carbonate: 1.0%
Chrome Oxide : .5%
Does this mean that that i will put 20 grams for each ingredient and the then the "add" ingredients in percentages( as said on the site)
I will most likely be ordering a 10lb quantity. Just making sure my calculations are correct, and for future recipes do the also need to add up to 100 grams?
Thanks |

Hi,
The "Add" type of recipe format is so anoying! I never use it. Just recompute to gram format.
Because your base recipe adds up to 100, the "Add:" part can be treated just like grams (1% of 100 is 1 and 0.5% of 100 is 0.5).
Just re-write the recipe like this:
Teal Blue
Custer Feldspar - 20g
Ferro Frit - 20g
Wollastonite - 20g
Silica - 20g
EPK - 20g
Cobalt Carbonate - 1g
Chrome Oxide - 0.5 g |
