I just had the middle element burn out on my Paragon kiln. (I think)
It was firing to cone 6 and it went way over time. I finally shut it off. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was.
Has anyone replaced an element. Is it difficult? Is it something I could do? I have very little electrical experience. |

Anyone can do it.
JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE KILN IS OFF AND UNPLUGGED.
If you do not have the manual. Write to paragon. You can also order new elements from your local ceramic supply shop (they will come with instructions).
Make sure you get the right elements for your kiln.
Paragon even has a "request a catolog" page. |

DON'T DO IT
I tried to replace an element in my kiln. It is very hard to get the elements back in the grove. It now looks terrible! The elements hang out and it is difficult to get kiln shelves in.
Get a professional to do it. Ask for someone at your local ceramic supply shop. |
