Hi
Any body out there know of a recipe for a dry crackle glaze like the one in the picture added. I would appreciate your help. |

Hi Remington,
Here are the Dry Crackle / Matt White Crackle glazes that I have. They have not been tested (by me).
Matt White Crackle Raku
Raku
Gerstley Borate - 80
Nepheline Syenite - 20
Bone Ash - 18
Stiff White Crackle
Cone 9
Custer Feldspar - 80
Whiting - 10
Silica - 10
White Crackle Slip
Cone 9
Ball Clay - 15
Calcined Kaolin - 20
EPK - 15
Silica - 20
Custer Feldspar - 20
Borax - 5
Zircopax - 5
Hope these help. You can also try underfiring any white glaze to get a matt finish. You can also take any matt glaze and give it a good thermal shock (remove it from the kiln early) to crackle the glaze.
Good luck. |

The picture almost looks like a white crackle slip over a brown slip.
Interesting. |

| When I want a dry look I just underfire the glaze. |
